How HardieTrim® Ties Your Siding Style Together

Home > Blog > How HardieTrim® Ties Your Siding Style Together

Siding trim isn’t something you often think about when replacing your siding as it’s something that’s there and nearly invisible. But take it out, and you’d see how incongruous and jarring your house would look like without it!

How HardieTrim® Ties Your Siding Style Together

But you shouldn’t just choose any siding trim. The James Hardie® HardieTrim®, for example, is one of the best in the business, especially when paired with other James Hardie products. Here’s why.

Durability

First things first – HardieTrim isn’t just eye candy. It looks good, true, but it has uses that extend beyond simple aesthetics. Like many of James Hardie’s siding products, HardieTrim consists of a proprietary blend of oriented strand board (OSB) and wood composite, which makes it harder yet lighter than wood with none of its weaknesses.

HardieTrim adds another layer of weatherstripping to the edges of your windows and roof, and the corners of your wall, acting as a roof flashing. It also makes your siding more impermeable to water and the elements.

Low Maintenance

Durability is pointless if the siding needs to be maintained all the time. Fortunately, HardieTrim is just like its siding cousins – which require no scraping or repainting over many years. In addition, it uses the same ColorPlus® Technology in James Hardie siding products, which means the colors are baked onto the siding itself instead of being painted. This means it will never fade, no matter how many years it’s exposed to the sun.

Customizable

You can customize HardieTrim to fit any home style, profile or homeowner personality. It comes in different textures and configurations to fit any part of the home as well. The Rustic options are great for classic and “cabin in the woods” homes while the Smooth options are ideal for modern and contemporary properties. Specialty applications, such as batten boards and crown molding, are also available in HardieTrim profiles.
